On any given morning I can have nine different agendas, all with handwritten notes, requiring more time than I’ll have in that 24 hour period. My main objective in working from home is spending time with my family. If I’d willingly quit a job that required I work constantly without any time off, why would I continue to work for myself under those conditions.
Prioritization
Even though everything needs to be done, not everything needs to be done right away. By breaking my main objectives down to specific categories that require my time, it is easier to schedule them accordingly. Then by further defining the specific objectives within these categories I can produce a game plan that is focused and concise.
Starting At The Beginning
For instance, the lead generation campaign involves letter, email and article writing. It also involves an SEO application and the social media campaign. Another important aspect is reading articles and blogs pertaining to lead generation. This may involve posting comments or making personal contact with people regarding specific questions I would like to ask or answer.
The interview process and follow up is a separate campaign which has various components. Again, both online through emails, or over the phone and occasionally in person. This immediately brings up a unique objective because meeting someone can’t be done from my desk. I also have to balance the amount of time spent with someone who is interested in a network marketing business, and those already on my team that need to be addressed.
Not Finished Yet…
The objective of enhancing my leadership skills or studying new training materials either for recruitment, or directly related to my business requires time as well. Having a perfectionist mindset can be dangerous in this objective. Spending too much time getting prepared will leave me no time for what I’m getting prepared to do.
On a personal note I’ve found reading technical manuals for web development or marketing techniques, easier in the morning after a cup of coffee, than at the end of the day where words on a computer screen become dreams.
Replication and Duplication
Keeping my objectives well defined overall, as well as within specific categories, makes the process of prioritization easier. This is an area of business development that is constantly visited since it is included in the down line training process. If my team can see my game plan, they can mimic it more accurately. The business formula isn’t complete without effective application.
