The objective value, or quantifiable resource any individual exercises with proficiency, greatly increases their value in another persons mind. Varying skill sets, attitudes and knowledge, shape the perceptions we portray.
University professors, although not always wealthy, are usually considered valuable because of what they can provide to others. Therefore subjective value does not depend so much upon an individuals net worth, as it depends upon how they can facilitate meeting my goals.
Job Requirements
Having spent way too much time on Career Builder and Monster, I’ve discovered how exacting the requirements become between two ads looking for the same title. Even within the same company, one manager has a particular skill listed as essential, while the other add gives it no mention. Perhaps it is nothing more than the specialist framework of the corporate world, but if you have to weed out hundreds of applicants why not ask for something unique?
When I’m faced with an obstacle in my daily routine I do my very best to accurately define it. Trying to find a solution to something that isn’t clearly defined is a waste of time. Knowing that I don’t have the answers to every problem I face each day isn’t a quantifiable measure of my value; my ability to resolve them is.
What I look for in network marketing leads isn’t a complete package. I don’t have an employer/employee mentality that demands proficiency in specific tasks before they get the job. What I need to see is a teachable attitude, a willing mindset and a determined spirit. The hardest task in separating one individual from another isn’t whether they can write HTML code, but whether they can demonstrate self discipline.
The Exciting Road Ahead
It would be unfortunate to ask a prospect if they have an open mind, when I don’t have one myself. I’m surprised so often by the unfolding sequence of events in this adventure called network marketing, that I’d be remiss not to call it exciting.
Every opportunity available to me, is also available to anyone else who truly desires to work for themselves. Their missions and goals are no less valuable than my own. Provided they are steadfast in the decision to make the journey, they become valuable to me and to my team.
